fundraising

In order for me to participate in this life changing experience, each volunteer is required to raise £5400 to cover various costs including living expenses. Me and my friend Nadia ran the Glasgow 10k and raised £700.
I Also held a ceilidh, which again was very successful, raising just over £1000.

After attending a selection course with Project Trust in September 2012, I have been selected to serve a year in Thailand as a volunteer English teacher, teaching English to Primary school children. I have found out that I will be living in the North East of the country in a town called kutchum. Pronounced ‘Good Choom’, Kutchum is in Yasothon Province and about 2 hours’ drive north from the nearest ‘city’ of Ubon Ratchathani. Instead of working in only one school, I will work in three. Class sizes range from twenty to thirty and I will be seen as a valuable resource for the community, providing lessons through games and activities as well as providing conversational practice for teachers and adults.

It's only 9 weeks to go and with fundraising almost complete, the excitement is kicking in!
